Good Chiropractic, Inc. · Pleasanton, CA
Not a figure of speech. There is a file on your site whose only job is to tell search engines whether they are allowed in, and right now it says no. It has been saying no to every search engine and every AI assistant, for every page you have.
This is a settings problem left over from a half finished move to WordPress.com, not anything you did wrong. Every part of it below you can check yourself in about a minute.
One — the file
Open good-chiropractic.com/robots.txt in any browser. This is the whole file.
good-chiropractic.com/robots.txt
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
Line one means “this applies to everybody.” Line two means “do not look at any of it.” Google, Bing, ChatGPT and every other crawler read this file first and respect it.
Two lines, and they cover the whole site. There is no page of yours that is exempt.
Two — why it happened
When someone types your web address, they do not stay there. They get forwarded to a WordPress.com scratch address that was only ever meant to be used while a site is being built.
Following good-chiropractic.com
That last address is the one actually serving your site. It is also the one carrying the blocking file, and the one your pages name as their official address in the page code.
So the domain you own and pay for is not where your website really lives. Search engines are pointed at a temporary address, and that address tells them to go away.
Three — what it costs
Search “Good Chiropractic Pleasanton” and you still turn up, because your name is unusual and the directories carry it. That is the search your existing patients do.
Now search the way somebody with a sore back and no chiropractor searches.
Search: “best chiropractor Pleasanton CA”
The chiropractors down the road are not better clinicians than you. Their websites are simply readable, and yours is closed.
The same applies when somebody asks ChatGPT or Google's AI answer box for a chiropractor in Pleasanton. Those tools read the same file, get the same instruction, and skip you. More and more first appointments start exactly there.
Four — the gap
That reputation is real and hard won. It is also being held for you by Booksy, Yelp and Healthgrades, who list your competitors underneath you.
Meanwhile, here is what your website does not say anywhere on it:
Five — your hours
Because your own site does not list opening hours, the directories filled them in for you. They got them wrong, and you cannot reliably correct all of them.
Yelp against your Booksy hours
| Day | Yelp says | Booksy, where you keep them |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 9:00 – 5:30 | 9:00 – 11:30, 1:00 – 2:30, 2:45 – 5:00 |
| Tuesday | 9:00 – 1:00 | 9:00 – 2:00 |
| Wednesday | 9:00 – 5:30 | 9:00 – 11:30, 1:00 – 2:30, 2:45 – 5:00 |
| Thursday | 10:00 – 2:00 | Closed |
| Friday | 9:00 – 4:30 | 9:00 – 11:30, 1:00 – 4:30 |
Yelp has you open all day Thursday. You are closed. It also shows no midday break on Monday or Wednesday, so someone can arrive at 12:15 to a dark office.
A patient who checks Yelp, drives over on a Thursday and finds nobody there does not usually call to complain. They just go to the chiropractor down the road, and you never learn it happened.
The fix is not to chase every directory. It is to publish your hours as real text on your own site, in the format Google reads, so the search result comes from you rather than from a guess.
The fix
No forwarding, no temporary address, and nothing telling crawlers to stay out. The site answers at good-chiropractic.com because that is where it lives.
Phone, address, hours, both providers and every service. A tappable number on a phone, and a map that opens directions in one touch.
You keep your booking system, your history and your 490 reviews. The booking button just gets wired in properly, everywhere, on every device.
Your practice details marked up in the format search engines expect, a real page per service, and a plain summary file that AI tools read when answering questions about local businesses.
The three directions are working homepages, not pictures. Open them on your phone and tap things.
